For surf and jetty anglers: stripers, fluke, tog, albies and whatever you chase

Stop guessing the tide.
Know when to go.

Log a trip in seconds on the sand, or bring your whole spreadsheet. Surfishlog adds the tide, swing, light, water temperature and moon to every one, works out which of them produce the fish you're after, and tells you the next windows worth the drive.

Why most fishing logs lie to you

Your log says dawn.
Your keepers say night.

Count every fish and a few schoolie blitzes at first light bury the nights that produced every fish over the slot. Tell Surfishlog what you're after (say, stripers 32" and up) and every number counts only those fish.

Then it does what a spreadsheet can't: it measures each condition with the others held equal. If your dawn trips were all on the outgoing, a plain average can't tell you which one mattered. Surfishlog can, because it fits a model to every hour you've fished. Your skunks count too, because they're half the evidence.

How it works

Log it. It learns. It tells you when.

  1. 1

Log in ten seconds, or bring your old log

On the beach: tap Start, tap + Fish with a length, tap Done. No signal? It saves on your phone and uploads later.

Already keep a spreadsheet or a paper log? Import it and every past trip gets its real NOAA tides, swing and moon.

  2. 2

    It learns your water

Tide stage, light (from your spot's real sunrise and sunset), tide swing, moonlight, season, and what you saw on the beach: water color, surf, weed, bait. Each measured per hour fished, with the others held equal.

And per spot, because every rip has its own tide. One blitz can't fool it: fish that came in one school count as less evidence than separate bites.

  3. 3

It tells you when to go

Strike Windows lines up the coming tides, sun, moon and forecast wind against your history and names the hours, the spot and what to throw, with the reasons.

After three trips with a fish, your forecast unlocks. With an imported log, that's tonight.

Beach Mode

Built for 2 AM on the rocks.

Dark screen that won't wreck your night vision, buttons big enough for cold wet hands, and every fish kept on your phone until there's signal. Tap + Fish, pick a length, done. The time sets the tide stage; the server adds the rest.

  • ✓ Works with no service; uploads when you're back in range
  • ✓ Finds your spot by GPS and remembers your species and last lure
  • ✓ Water, surf, weed and bait in a few taps when you're done, skunk or not
  • ✓ Add it to your home screen like an app

Import

Your years of notes, finally put to work.

Export your spreadsheet as CSV (or paste the rows) and Surfishlog matches your spots, adds NOAA tides, the day's swing and the moon to every trip back to day one, and skips anything already logged. Your analysis and forecast work tonight.

Trip Planner

See your best days a month out.

Tides, sun and moon are known weeks ahead, so the planner scores every day of the month against your log and shades the standouts. Tap a day for each spot's tide curve, swing, best window and what to throw. Plan it, and when the day comes, one tap logs the trip.

Tide swing, not just tide

Each day's range against your station's average, so you know whether big spring tides or neaps fish better for you.

Real light, real moon

Dawn and dusk from your spot's actual sunrise and sunset, plus the moon phase and how much light it gives on a night tide.

What to throw

A lure report card counts fish per night you threw it, blanks included, so the plug you never take off doesn't win by default. Every window suggests what's worked in those conditions.

Your spots stay yours

No social feed, no maps of other people's spots, no pooled data. Nothing you log is shared or published. Ever.

Pricing

Your log is free. The answers are Pro.

We never hold your log hostage. Log, import and export as much as you want, free. Pro is the forecast and the analysis, and it's less than the price of one plug.

Questions surfcasters ask

Will anyone see my spots?

No. There's no feed, no public map, no "community reports," and nothing pooled across anglers. Your spots and trips are visible to you and no one else.

I fish where there's no service.

Beach Mode keeps everything on your phone and uploads when you're back in range. Open it once with signal and it'll open offline after that.

I already keep a log in Excel (or a notebook).

Good. That's who this is for. Save it as CSV and import it; every trip gets its tides, swing and moon added, so your forecast works the same day. Paper logs: a season in a spreadsheet takes an evening.

How is this different from fishing apps with "bite forecasts"?

Those score conditions with generic solunar rules that are the same for every angler at every spot. Surfishlog learns from your trips, at your spots, for the fish you target, and shows its evidence. A rip that only fishes the last of the drop will say so.

Where does it work?

Anywhere in the US with a NOAA tide station nearby, which covers all the coasts. It was built around Northeast striped bass, but the analysis works for any species you log.

What happens if I stop paying?

You keep everything and keep logging, free. Only the forecast and the analysis go back behind Pro. Cancel anytime from Settings.

The fall run won't wait.

Import last season tonight, or log your next trip from the sand. Either way, Surfishlog starts telling you when to go.
