Surfishlog
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Surfishlog ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Surfishlog is a fishing log application that allows users to track fishing trips, catches, and analyze conditions. The Service integrates with third-party data providers (NOAA, weather services) to automatically capture environmental data.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. User Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service (trip logs, catch data, notes). By using the Service, you grant us a license to store and process this data to provide the Service to you. We will not share your personal fishing data with third parties without your consent.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Use automated means to access the Service without permission
6. Payment
Logging trips is free, with no trip limit. New accounts get a 30-day free trial of Pro features (forecasts, planner scoring, and condition analysis). After the trial, Pro requires an annual subscription ($29.95/year); without it you keep full access to log, view, and export your trips. Your subscription will automatically renew each year unless canceled. You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis - contact us if you're unsatisfied and we'll work with you to resolve the issue.
7. Third-Party Data
The Service relies on third-party data providers (NOAA, OpenWeather) for weather, tide, and environmental data. We do not guarantee the accuracy or availability of this data. Use of this data is at your own risk.
8. Safety and Regulations
Forecasts, Strike Windows, tide and weather information, size targets and slot-limit hints are fishing aids, not safety or legal advice. Surf, jetties, rocks and inlets can be dangerous, especially at night: judge conditions yourself and don't rely on the Service to decide whether it's safe to fish. Size limits, bag limits and seasons vary by state and change often. You are responsible for knowing and following the rules where you fish.
9. Your Data and Ending Your Account
You can download your whole log at any time (Settings → Your data) and delete your account at any time (Settings), which permanently deletes your log and ends any Pro subscription immediately; the unused part of a paid year isn't refunded automatically, but contact us and we'll work it out. We may suspend accounts that break these Terms. See the Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE.
11. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL SURFISHLOG BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
